Inspired by the opening track overheard at the Bel, this episode took us into 4 mini-deep dives where each centered on a single theme. First, we dove into the eclectic world of Frank Ocean, then we traced a classic hip hop sample back in time to its obscure origins, and then dove deep into the world of legendary Memphis soul label, Stax Records, and the influence of one of their shining stars (and one of my personal favorites), Isaac Hayes.
