07/15/2024 - Weak in Your Light - Episode 014 (Bonus: Archives are up to date!)
Thank you for subscribing! I'm excited to share that our archive & website are completely up to date- visit the site to see all episodes in 2024 with recordings, show notes, and playlists! A huge thanks to my friend Drex Harris for volunteering to help me with editing to get up to speed. I was able to get a new recording setup going, so starting with this episode, recordings (and hopefully these posts) will be much faster to post, and most importantly, the audio is significantly better quality. Thanks for your support! Let's get on with it...
We started out with a recent favorite band of mine, Nation of Language, which in turn took us to influential 80's & 90's alt-rock pioneers, Pixies, and one of their famous fans, Mr. David Bowie. Bowie's influence led us on a journey to the start of Luther Vandross's vaunted career, two 90's R&B queens, Mary J. Blige and Lauryn Hill, 1950's doo-wop and multi-hyphenate producer Leon Russell before bringing us right back to Bowie close us out. Hope you enjoyed the show!
