03/11/2024 - The Best - Episode 006
Back from our Winter hiatus and excited to be back in the studio! Today's opening song from Tina Turner was inspired by an incident at a metal bar in Mexico, and took us to the densely-layered, sample heavy production of Massive Attack, the story of how Roberta Flack discovered "Killing me Softly" while on an airplane, a mini deep-dive into the eclectic, wide world of Q-Tip, and back into the present day with some artists in heavy rotation for me recently- Khruangbin, BADBADNOTGOOD, SAULT, & Michael Kiwanuka. Hope you enjoyed the show!
